With its long coastal walkway and sunrise beach, Sanur is perfect for morning strolls, cycling, and swimming. Unlike the bustling Kuta, it exudes a relaxing, elegant charm.
We stayed at Griya Santrian, a beachfront resort where you can step onto the sand just a few steps from the pool — ideal for water lovers or beach enthusiasts. 📸 Day 2: Klook’s “East Bali Instagram Hotspots Tour” 🌋🌴
Today’s highlight was Klook’s “East Bali Instagram Hotspots Day Tour,” our first Klook activity of the trip. The tour accommodates as few as two people, and the option for a Chinese-speaking guide was perfect for first-time visitors like us who wanted to delve deeper into the local culture.
We departed promptly at 7:30 AM from our hotel, with private transfers making the journey seamless. A quick nap later, we arrived at our first stop: the famous Lempuyang Temple, also known as the “Gates of Heaven.” Capturing the iconic symmetrical mirror reflection here was absolutely magical! 📷⛩️ Our guide explained the temple’s sacred origins, enriching our experience beyond just taking photos.
Next, we visited Swing Heaven, which offered more than just swings—there were multiple Instagram-worthy spots for stunning photos. 🌺 Our guide even helped with angles, showcasing top-notch photography skills!
By midday, we arrived at the serene Tirta Gangga Water Palace, a former royal bathing site. The pools were filled with koi fish, and we could buy fish food to feed them or stroll across the stepping stones—a delightful experience! 🐟💦
Finally, we explored the majestic Taman Ujung Water Palace. Less crowded and tranquil, it was the perfect place to quietly admire the harmonious blend of architecture and water.
The final stop was my favorite Virgin Beach, a hidden gem far from the hustle and bustle. With crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand, and few locals around, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, soak up the sun, and sip on fresh coconut water 🌞🥥.
We headed back around 17:30, wrapping up a full yet unhurried day. Not having to navigate or worry about transportation made the experience super stress-free!

🌿 Day 3: Ubud Half-Day Free Exploration + SPA Time
After waking up naturally, we checked out from Sanur and headed to Ubud Market for a leisurely stroll. We tried Ubud’s famous crispy roast pork rice and then indulged in a 90-minute Balinese aromatherapy massage at a SPA center.
Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali, surrounded by rice fields, forests, and traditional villages. It’s the ideal place to connect with nature, art, and spirituality. In Ubud, you can join yoga classes, visit craft villages, experience Balinese temple culture, and relax in many high-quality villas.
How can you visit Bali without indulging in a villa!? The Ayuterra Resort we stayed at was a VILLA that made me never want to leave the pool🏞️. The room was stylish and spacious, with an outdoor private infinity pool directly facing the Ayung River Gorge—every moment felt like a postcard📸. Spending the night stargazing in the pool and waking up to birdsong in the morning was the most relaxing and romantic night of my Ubud trip❤️. Highly recommended for couples on their honeymoon or celebrating a special occasion!
🌿 Day 4: Klook “Ubud Highlights Private Day Tour”｜Culture & Nature All-in-One, Unlock the Essence of Ubud in a Day!
On this day, we booked the 【Ubud Highlights Private Day Tour】 on Klook, which also offers Chinese-speaking guides, but we were accompanied by the amazing English-speaking driver Yogi for the entire trip. He was incredibly patient, planned the most efficient and crowd-free route, and even took care of parking fees at each spot—no extra costs, truly thoughtful!
We departed from the hotel at 08:30 AM, with our first stop being the stunning UNESCO World Heritage site—Tegallalang Rice Terraces. The layered rice fields resembled green waves, and the scenery was breathtaking—every photo looked like a dreamy postcard! 🌾📷
Next, we experienced the classic Ubud swing, and the moment we swung out was both thrilling and fun! With the lush tropical rainforest and valley below, it felt like we were flying in a movie scene!
Our third stop was the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, the natural habitat of Bali’s long-tailed monkeys. While the monkeys are lively and curious, as long as you don’t feed or provoke them, there’s no danger. The guide even taught us how to maintain a safe distance—a unique and fascinating experience 🐒🌳
For lunch, Yogi picked a restaurant with an incredible view, where we enjoyed our meal overlooking the rice fields—perfect ambiance (thanks to his impeccable planning!).
After lunch, we headed to Tirta Empul Temple, a spot I had been eagerly anticipating. The holy spring within the temple is said to possess purifying energy, and many local devotees and tourists enter the pool to undergo the ritual cleansing. Although I didn’t step into the water, sitting quietly nearby and observing this scene of devotion brought an unexpected sense of peace to my heart 🙏💧.
Our final stop was the popular Tegenungan Waterfall in Ubud. The waterfall is truly spectacular, with its roaring waters creating a breathtaking sight. However, it felt a bit too crowded and commercialized for my taste, with many visitors playing in the water and taking photos. I didn’t stay long, but this might vary depending on personal preferences.
Around 17:00, we returned to the hotel, wrapping up a nearly 10-hour journey that was both fulfilling and surprisingly not exhausting. A special shoutout to our driver Yogi, who was incredibly kind and not only planned the itinerary perfectly but also helped us avoid peak crowds. He’s definitely worth recommending!

The resort itself is vast, featuring multiple pools, a kids’ club, and a spa. The staff are well-trained, friendly, and courteous, creating a premium vacation experience that makes you think, ‘I want to stay here again next time’ 🌟.

He was both passionate and street-smart, deeply knowledgeable about the history and culture of each stop—whether it was the meaning behind the Kecak dance, the architecture of Uluwatu Temple, or the formation of the beach, he provided rich and insightful explanations. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This journey became even more complete because of him!

Our first stop was the hidden gem—Padang Padang Beach. Surrounded by lush cliffs, reaching this beach requires navigating through a narrow rocky path, adding a sense of adventure! The beach is small but boasts fine white sand and crystal-clear blue waters, making it a perfect spot for swimming and photography 🌊📸.

We chose our own spot for lunch, and Tawan thoughtfully recommended a restaurant with ocean views. Enjoying grilled fish with coconut water while watching surfers ride the waves was pure bliss — so chill!
🏝️ 14:00 Blue Point Beach (Suluban Beach)
Next, we headed to Suluban Beach, also known as “Blue Point Beach,” a secret paradise for surfers. Surrounded by massive caves, during low tide, you can walk deep into the caverns and explore small pools — it feels mysterious and adventurous! It’s like discovering a “secret hideout for adults” 🏄♂️
🛕 16:30 Uluwatu Temple
Perched on a cliff, this ancient temple is not only one of Bali’s six sacred temples but also an incredible spot to admire the Indian Ocean’s majestic views. The monkeys here are playful and cute, but keep an eye on your belongings (sunglasses and hats, especially!). With our guide, we learned about Uluwatu Temple’s history and religious significance, gaining a deeper understanding of the locals’ reverence for nature and the divine.

This performance was truly one of the highlights of our trip! The Kecak Dance doesn’t rely on any instruments but instead uses the rhythmic “chak-chak-chak” chanting of dozens of bare-chested men to create an atmosphere. Combined with fire dancing and interactive scenes, it brings the epic tale of the Indian classic Ramayana to life! The show begins at sunset and ends with bursts of fire and cheers from the crowd — the atmosphere was absolutely electrifying 🔥🔥🔥
