During the process of applying for an Indonesian visa, a traveler shared her experience. Although she knew she would be staying for more than 30 days, she still recommended applying for a 30-day visa, as online sources indicated that visas for stays under 30 days are typically approved immediately after application and payment. As for the 60-day visa, she was uncertain; the immigration officer told her it could take 5-7 working days or even longer, so she advised travelers planning to stay over 30 days to first apply for a B1 visa for entry within 30 days, and if they need to stay longer, consider extending the visa before it expires.

This traveler overlooked that applying for a visa for over 60 days requires a longer processing time and proof of funds. She completed the application and payment on the 27th, but when she tried to enter on the 29th, the review was still incomplete. Facing this dilemma, she showed the payment receipt at Bali airport, but the immigration officer on site couldn’t process it immediately and she still had to wait for the review. The officer told her that if she returned within 3 months, she could use the previously approved visa.

As a result, she ended up applying for a visa again on the spot and paying once more. This story reminds us to carefully read the terms when applying for a visa to avoid unnecessary trouble.
