🌺 8 Days Solo in Bali - A Woman's Solo Travel Experience 🌺
💡 Quick Answer

I’d like to give back to this community. In March, I traveled solo to Bali for 8 days.

Bottom line: Solo female travel in Bali is generally safe. Just keep basic awareness—don’t get into strangers’ cars, avoid eye contact or conversation with street harassers. Most locals are friendly and warm. You can pre-book airport transfers via Klook (drivers wait patiently for about 2 hours), which greatly reduces solo travel anxiety.

I’d like to give back to this community. In March, I traveled solo to Bali for 8 days. Since there’s not much info online about women traveling alone in Bali, I’m here to share my itinerary and insights.

In fact, I saw many foreign women traveling solo in Bali. Based on my experience, as long as you keep basic awareness—like not getting into strangers’ cars, avoiding eye contact or conversation with street harassers—most locals are warm, friendly, and safe.

Here’s my 8-day solo Bali itinerary:

Saturday, March 17

09:15-14:45 Arrived in Bali by flight. Pre-booked airport transfer via Klook; the driver waited patiently for 2 hours. On the way, I asked the driver to stop at a money changer—I went straight to BMC Money Changer. Then headed to tonight’s stay at The Eight resort.

I stopped by a nearby supermarket to pick up mosquito repellent, a travel adapter, sunglasses, and a summer swimsuit. I bought a swimsuit from niconico swimwear. The staff there were friendly and not pushy, and the selection was great.

Sunday, March 18

10:30 AM - 4:30 PM: One Eighty. The facilities are great, the views are stunning, and the food is top-notch. I recommend getting the VIP package and staying for 6 hours.

17:30 Arrived at The Blue Point Beach. Check the tides before heading out—high tide was at 2 PM that day, so by 5 PM the water was still high, making it hard to take good photos.

18:00-19:30 Headed to La Terrazza Uluwatu for dinner and the view. The restaurant is perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunset and the silhouette of Uluwatu Temple.

Monday, March 19

10:30 Visited KIOA Bali, a newly opened brunch spot. Highly recommend the breakfast plate—the sauces are unique and delicious.

12:00 PM: Head to Natura Organics Spa for a traditional Balinese spa experience. The interior decor is incredibly relaxing, with beautiful rice field views and excellent massage techniques. You can book via WhatsApp.

3:00 PM: Grab a ride to your Ubud accommodation at Jani’s Place Cottage.

6:00 PM: Dine at Kagemusha, a Japanese restaurant with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere.

On Nusa Penida, the only option is to hire a private driver. I booked a ferry + private car package on Klook and was very satisfied overall. The car company contacted me in advance to confirm the itinerary and helped communicate with the driver. As soon as I got off the ferry, the driver met me and even helped carry my luggage. Throughout the trip, he was a dedicated guide—he even followed me down to Kelingking Beach. I’m truly grateful to him. At every stop, he took photos and reported back to the company, which made me, a solo female traveler, feel much safer. I really appreciated the driver, who helped with my luggage from start to finish and accompanied me for photos—he was very responsible.

For transportation, aside from the airport transfer and the trip to Nusa Penida—both pre-booked private cars—I used Grab or Gojek for everything else. It was super convenient, and most drivers were quiet, letting me relax during the ride.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I found Bali to be a fantastic destination for solo travel and photography. The attractions are spacious, making it easy to set up a tripod for selfies. Except for the airport transfer and the Nusa Penida car hire, almost all my beautiful photos were taken solo using a tripod and remote shutter. Even in tricky spots—like uneven ground or in a waterfall—locals often offered to take photos at a reasonable price, which was incredibly thoughtful.

Bali’s natural scenery is absolutely stunning! This solo trip gave me unforgettable experiences and showed me the warmth of the locals. Solo travel isn’t scary at all—it actually let me fully immerse myself in nature and exotic vibes. I’d love to visit this dreamy island again! Looking forward to sharing more travel stories with everyone.
