Six-Day Bali Itinerary: Accommodation, Food, and Attractions Guide
💡 Quick Answer

This Bali trip began with our family flying full of anticipation to this enchanting island.

The following content is shared by group member Oscar Lin and adapted with their permission.

Key Highlights: This is a tested six-day itinerary, with Ubud as the base—the first night is spent at Komaneka at Rasa Sayang (conveniently located near Monkey Forest Road), with dinner at the Balinese-style Cafe Wayan. The entire trip uses a private car for transportation, covering Ubud’s attractions, dining, and accommodations in a complete arrangement, ideal for families seeking a slow-paced, immersive Ubud experience.

Our Bali trip started on August 13, as our family flew from Singapore to this captivating island with great excitement. The plane landed promptly at 6:45 PM, and we immediately felt Bali’s warm embrace. After disembarking, we took a private car to Ubud, ready to kick off our vacation.

August 13: Arrival in Ubud, Enjoying Food and Accommodation

For our first night, we chose Cafe Wayan in Ubud for dinner. This restaurant exudes a strong Balinese vibe, with a beautiful setting steeped in local tradition. We ordered a steak, and it was truly delicious—tender and juicy. However, the service was a bit slow, likely because we arrived late, but overall, the dining experience was satisfying.

After dinner, we returned to our accommodation for the night—Komaneka at Rasa Sayang hotel. This hotel lived up to its online reputation, with both the room design and overall atmosphere offering great comfort. Its location is also very convenient, right by Monkey Forest Road, with plenty of attractions and restaurants nearby, making it perfect for sightseeing and relaxation.

August 14: Exploring Ubud and Nearby Attractions

On the second day, we set off at 9:30 AM with a private driver for a full day of adventure. Our first stop was Ritatkala Cafe, a coffee shop near the volcano with absolutely stunning views overlooking the entire volcanic landscape. The food, however, was just average—nothing particularly impressive—but the atmosphere and visual feast more than made up for it.

Next, we visited a coffee plantation recommended by our driver. The environment was incredibly relaxing, surrounded by lush greenery, and we even had the chance to take photos with civet cats, which delighted the kids. What made it even better was that our driver didn’t push any sales, leaving us feeling completely at ease.

Afterward, we headed to the famous Tirta Empul Temple. The crowds weren’t as heavy as we expected, perhaps because we arrived early. We asked our driver to guide us through the full purification ritual, which was solemn and sacred. He was thoughtful enough to record videos and take photos for us, capturing precious memories.

Our final stop was Tis Cafe. The food here was again just average, but the lack of a minimum charge and the relaxed vibe were definite pluses. However, to see the rice terraces, you have to climb a bit, and the view only reveals a small patch of terraced fields—those expecting a grand panorama might feel a bit let down.

August 15: Strolling Around Ubud and a Trip to Uluwatu

On the morning of day three, we took a leisurely stroll around Ubud town center, where there are plenty of interesting little shops and markets to browse for local handicrafts and souvenirs.

In the afternoon, we hired a driver again to head to Uluwatu (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) to watch the famous fire dance performance. The drive from Ubud took about three hours, but our driver was steady and reassuring. Upon arrival, the cliffside temple was truly breathtaking—the stunning scenery paired with the fire dance made the long journey feel absolutely worthwhile.

In the evening, we headed to Bali Collection for dinner. This large shopping mall features a variety of restaurants and shops, making it a great spot for a family meal and some shopping.

After a full day, we checked into Ulu Segara Luxury Suites & Villas. Though the hotel is a bit dated, the pool and beach views were gorgeous, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious, giving us a comfortable night’s rest.

August 16: Nightlife at Finns Club

On the fourth day, we headed to Finns Club, a beach-themed club. We booked seats in advance, and in the evening there were fire dance performances and a fireworks show. The whole vibe felt like a massive outdoor nightclub—very lively. That said, I personally think if you just want to soak in the atmosphere, there’s no need to book ahead; simply walk in during the late afternoon. That way, you have more flexibility and don’t have to spend as much.

On our last day, we hired a driver again for a full day of exploration. Our first stop was Oneeighty Dayclub, an upscale club perched on a cliff. The setting here was truly relaxing, the food was delicious, and they strictly control the number of guests, so it never felt crowded. Compared to Finns Club, I preferred the atmosphere here—overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Afterward, we made our way to Rock Bar, located on Bali’s southwestern coast. The sunset views there were truly unforgettable, especially after the lights came on at night—the whole bar’s ambiance became even more enchanting. We ordered a few drinks and slowly savored the scenery; it was definitely the most romantic moment of our Bali trip.

On our last day, we chose to soak up the final moments by the hotel pool and on the beach. In the afternoon, we flew back to Taiwan, ending this Bali trip filled with wonderful memories.

For this trip, we highly recommend Jon Devn (Agus) as a private driver. He was introduced to us by Satrya, and his driving was exceptionally steady—no reckless overtaking or honking, which made us feel very safe on Bali’s winding mountain roads. He was polite, kept the car spotless, and was always happy to help with any needs during the journey, making the entire trip much more relaxed and enjoyable.
