Six-Day Bali Itinerary: Accommodation, Food & Attractions Guide
💡 Quick Answer

Our family flew to this enchanting island with great anticipation for our Bali trip.

The following content is shared by group member Oscar Lin and adapted with permission.

Key Highlights: This is a tested six-day itinerary, with Ubud as the base—the first night is spent at Komaneka at Rasa Sayang (conveniently located on Monkey Forest Road), with dinner at the Balinese-style Cafe Wayan. The entire trip uses a private driver, covering Ubud’s attractions, dining, and accommodations in a complete arrangement, ideal for families looking to experience a deep, slow-paced Ubud getaway.

Our Bali trip began on August 13, as our family flew from Singapore to this captivating island with great excitement. The plane touched down at 6:45 PM, and we immediately felt Bali’s warm embrace. After landing, we took a private car to Ubud, ready to kick off our vacation.

For our first night, we chose Cafe Wayan in Ubud for dinner. This restaurant exudes a strong Balinese vibe, with a beautiful setting full of local tradition. We ordered a steak, and it was truly delicious—tender and juicy. However, the service was a bit slow, likely because we arrived late. Still, the overall dining experience was satisfying.

After dinner, we returned to our hotel for the night—Komaneka at Rasa Sayang. As online reviews suggested, the hotel was stunning, with both the room design and overall atmosphere offering great comfort. Its location is also very convenient, right on Monkey Forest Road, with plenty of attractions and restaurants nearby, making it perfect for sightseeing and relaxation.

August 14: Exploring Ubud and Surrounding Attractions

On the second day, we set off at 9:30 AM with a private driver for a full day of exploration. Our first stop was Ritatkala Cafe, a coffee shop near the volcano with absolutely stunning views—you can see the entire volcanic landscape from here. However, the food was just average, nothing particularly impressive, but the atmosphere and visual experience more than made up for it.

Next, we visited a coffee plantation recommended by our driver. The setting was incredibly relaxing, surrounded by lush greenery, and we even got to take photos with civet cats, which delighted the kids. What made it even better was that our driver didn’t push any sales, leaving us feeling completely at ease.

Afterward, we headed to the famous Tirta Empul Temple. The crowds weren’t as heavy as we expected, perhaps because we arrived early. We asked our driver to guide us through the full purification ritual, which felt solemn and sacred. He even thoughtfully recorded videos and took photos for us, capturing precious memories.

Our final stop was Tis Cafe. The food here was also just average, but the place had no minimum spend and a very relaxed vibe. However, to see the rice terraces, you have to climb a bit, and the view is only a small patch—so if you’re expecting sweeping terrace landscapes, you might be a bit disappointed.

In the afternoon, we hired a private driver again to head to Uluwatu (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) to watch the famous fire dance. The drive from Ubud took about three hours, but our driver was steady and reassuring. Upon arrival, the cliffside temple was absolutely breathtaking—the stunning scenery paired with the fire dance made the long journey feel completely worthwhile.

On the fourth day, we arrived at Finns Club, a beach-themed club. We had booked seats in advance, and in the evening there were fire dance performances and a fireworks show. The whole vibe was like a massive outdoor nightclub—very lively. However, personally, if you just want to soak in the atmosphere, there’s no need to book ahead; just walk in around dusk. That way, you have more flexibility and don’t have to spend as much.

On our last day, we hired a driver again for a full day of sightseeing. Our first stop was Oneeighty Dayclub, an upscale club perched on a cliff. The environment here was truly relaxing, and the food was delicious. They also strictly control the number of guests, so it never felt crowded. Compared to Finns Club, I preferred the atmosphere here—it was an overall very pleasant experience.

Afterward, we headed to Rock Bar, located on the southwest coast of Bali. The sunset views there were truly unforgettable, especially after the lights came on, making the bar’s atmosphere even more enchanting. We ordered a few drinks and slowly savored the scenery—it was definitely the most romantic moment of our Bali trip.

During this trip, we highly recommend Jon Devn (Agus) as a private driver. He was introduced to us by Satrya. His driving is very steady—he doesn’t overtake recklessly or honk unnecessarily, which made us feel very safe on Bali’s mountain roads. The driver himself is very polite, and the car is kept exceptionally clean and tidy. He is always happy to help with any needs during the journey, making the entire trip much more relaxed and enjoyable.
