Starting from January 7, 2024, the Indonesian government has assigned new codes to visa categories and introduced new types of tourist and business visas with varying durations of stay. There are a total of eight visa categories, including investment visas and retirement visas. For more details, read till the end.
Tourist Visa
Let’s first explain in detail the most commonly needed tourist visa.
Do you need to apply for an e-visa to enter Indonesia/Bali for tourism? The Indonesian Immigration Directorate General has revised the types of e-visas (EVOA) available. The previous B213 visa is no longer available. The tourist visa has been updated to TOURISM SINGLE ENTRY VISITOR VISA-60DAYS and B1 - TOURISM(VISA ON ARRIVAL)-30DAYS.

So, which one should you apply for general tourism?
The answer is: For general tourism not exceeding 30 days, choose B1 - TOURISM(VISA ON ARRIVAL)-30DAYS (B1 Tourist Visa 30 Days).
B1 Tourist Visa 30 Days is a single-entry tourist visa valid for 30 days. Therefore, if your purpose is general tourism, sightseeing, visiting relatives, or business, you can choose B1 - TOURISM 30DAYS. You can choose to apply online beforehand to avoid last-minute hassles or apply upon arrival at the VoA counter at the airport.
On the other hand, TOURISM SINGLE ENTRY VISITOR VISA-60DAYS (Single Entry Tourist Visa 60 Days) is a tourist visa that must be applied for before your departure, valid for 60 days with a single entry. Therefore, if you plan to stay in Indonesia for a longer period, you can choose TOURISM SINGLE ENTRY VISITOR VISA-60DAYS.
