What is an Electronic Visa?
An electronic visa (electronic visa on arrival, abbreviated as eVoA/eVisa) refers to a visa that travelers apply for online through the official website of the Indonesian Immigration Directorate before departure. The application fee for the eVisa is the same as that for the manual visa on arrival at the airport, which is 500,000 Indonesian Rupiah (approximately USD$16). The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended once, allowing a maximum stay of 60 days. However, additional fees are charged for credit card payments.

Steps to Apply for an Electronic Visa
- Fill out the form on the website (<— This is the only official website link; there are many fake ones online that scam money)
- Prepare a passport valid for at least six months
- For general tourists visiting Indonesia or Bali, please select this option: 【B1 - Tourism (Visa On Arrival 30 Days)】. Do not choose the wrong one!
- Fill in the travel information and upload your passport (photo page) and a photo (can be taken with a phone, clearly identifiable, preferably against a plain background)
- Have your credit card ready (online payments require Visa, Mastercard, or JCB credit cards. Up to five people can apply simultaneously using one credit card. Amex cards are not accepted! The total amount after fees is Rp.519,500)
The eVisa can be applied for up to 3 days before departure. Once applied, it is valid for 90 days. If you have questions about the visa application, here is the 【Entry to Indonesia/Bali eVisa/All Indonesia FAQ】
