Important Update on Indonesia’s New Entry Measures 🇮🇩 Starting August 18, 2025
Attention travelers! The Indonesian government has announced ✨ that starting Monday, August 18, 2025, a new integrated entry declaration platform — All Indonesia — will be launched. This unified system will handle customs declarations, health statements, and other entry formalities, eliminating the need to separately complete the old ECD (customs) and SSHP (health declaration) systems!

Non-Indonesian passport holders should select ‘Foreign Visitor’

✈️ Pre-Departure Must-Dos:
✅ Complete online declarations for electronic visa, All Indonesia, and tourism tax before departure. See here for process explanation
✅ Save/screenshot the final QR CODE on your phone (recommend cloud backup as well)
✅ Upon arrival in Indonesia, directly present your QR Code for faster clearance
🔍 Friendly Reminder:
1️⃣ The new system saves time by reducing repetitive form filling, but we still recommend allowing 30 minutes for the process (especially for first-time users).
2️⃣ Language Switch Feature: You can select English interface at the top right corner of the webpage!
Common Questions About VISA:
❓ Do I need to apply for a visa (VoA, Visa on Arrival)?
Currently, citizens from 13 countries enjoy visa-free entry privileges (see the list here). Citizens from over 80 other countries, including Taiwan and China, need to apply for a visa.
❓ Do children need to apply for a visa?
Age doesn’t matter for visa requirements - even infants need to apply.
❓ Where can I apply for an eVisa?
Please refer to this page for further instructions.
❓ Don’t want to apply for an e-visa? Where to get a visa on arrival and what documents to prepare?
For those who haven’t filled out the e-visa application in advance, please proceed to the Visa on Arrival counter immediately after disembarking. Prepare the following:
- Passport valid for more than six months
- At least one blank page in the passport for stamps
- Return/transit flight ticket
- Cash or credit card for payment (IDR 500,000 or equivalent in USD. Cash equivalents in EUR, GBP, AUD, SGD are also accepted)
❓ How long does it take to process an e-visa application?
Fill out the application form in detail and attach a photo. Once completed and successful, you will receive a QR Code in your registered email immediately.
❓ How early can I apply for an e-visa?
The general tourist e-visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance; you must depart within 30 days from the date of entry.
❓ What’s the secret to a successful online application?
Based on the experiences of community members, using a Gmail account and applying during business hours increases the chances of success.
❓ What if the system automatically inputs the name+surname differently from my passport?
According to fellow travelers’ reports, passing through customs should go smoothly without any issues.
If the system doesn’t automatically populate the information, please enter it manually.
❓Name Format Question: Should I enter my name as First Name + Last Name? Do I need spaces?
Since the system doesn’t accept hyphens ’-’ or other symbols in names, if your passport name contains ’-’, you can replace it with a space or simply remove the ’-’. For example, if your passport name is ‘Wang, Fa-Fa’, you can manually enter it as ‘Wang, Fa Fa’ or ‘Wang, Fafa’.
❓Name Order Question: Should the first name or last name come first?
Simply follow the format shown on your passport—this is always correct, and no one can dispute it!
❓Place of Birth and Date of Birth
Place of Birth and Date of Birth must match exactly what is shown on your passport.
❓What should I fill in for Issuing Country?
If the system doesn’t automatically populate this, travelers with Taiwanese nationality can enter ROC, Taiwan, or China.
❓ How to Convert Image Files to PDF on Your Phone?
📱【How to Convert Image Files to PDF on Your Phone】
✅ For iPhone (iOS):
- Open your screenshot or photo in the Photos app.
- Tap the share icon at the bottom left (a box with an arrow).
- Swipe down → Tap Print.
- Use two fingers to zoom in on the photo (enlarge the photo with your fingers).
- A PDF preview will appear. Tap the share icon in the top right → Choose Save to Files or Save to iCloud Drive.
✅ For Android Phones:
- Open the image file you want to convert in the Gallery or Photos app.
- Tap the share button in the top right → Select Print.
- In the printer options, choose Save as PDF.
- Tap the download icon to save the file.
❓ What to Do If the Final Step of Credit Card Payment Fails?
If the payment fails, you’ll need to reapply. Sometimes switching to a different card works (AMEX cards are not accepted; please use JCB, VISA, or MasterCard).
❓ Pay Attention to the Date!
Once your eVOA visa is issued, you must use it within 90 days, meaning you must enter Indonesia within 90 days of the visa’s issue date. If you fail to enter within this period, the visa will automatically expire and become invalid.
When filling in the arrival date, make sure not to mistakenly enter the departure date.
❓ Why does the Date of Issue automatically change to the application date?
The Date of Issue that appears on your e-Visa is the date you applied for the eVoA, and it is not related to the Date of Issue on your passport. Therefore, it is correct that the date shown is the date you applied for the eVoA.
What if this field is filled out incorrectly? The Date of Issue here is only for your reference regarding the application/issuance date of the e-Visa. If you have successfully applied and paid, you will pass through smoothly!
❓ What if the Date of Issue and Place of Birth are filled out incorrectly?
If you notice any mistakes:
- The Date of Issue is just for your reference regarding the entry date, so it doesn’t matter if it’s incorrect.
- According to user reports, whether you fill in Taiwan or follow the birthplace on your passport, you can still pass through the automatic gates.
❓ Can children also use the automatic gates?
Children aged 6 and above can also use the airport’s automatic gates. Please refer to Guide to Indonesian/Bali Visas for Children
**❓ How long is the tourist visa valid? What happens if it expires?
The validity period for a tourist visa upon entry is 30 days, which can be extended once either at the local immigration office or online, allowing a maximum stay of 60 days.
Overstaying incurs a daily fine of 1,000,000 Indonesian Rupiah and is considered illegal residence, potentially leading to detention, deportation, or a ban from entering Indonesia for a specified period.
