Recently, a group member named Mike Chiu encountered some issues while applying for an Indonesian electronic visa (e-VOA). He sought advice in our Facebook group. Mike mentioned that he correctly entered his place of birth as “TAIWAN” during the application process and had double-checked the accuracy of his input. However, upon receiving the final electronic visa, he noticed that his place of birth was displayed as “Talwan”, with the “i” mistakenly changed to an “l”. Mike was unsure if this was acceptable and asked whether he needed to re-edit his application or how he should proceed.
In response, another traveler, Wei Chih Wen, advised Mike to first note down the electronic visa number, then write to the relevant department explaining the need to correct the place of birth error and patiently wait for a reply. Wei Chih Wen also mentioned that he had encountered a similar situation before and successfully received a corrected response.
Ultimately, Mike Chiu followed the advice and quickly received an official reply, resolving the issue smoothly. This experience serves as a reminder that if you encounter similar problems during the visa application process, you can contact the official authorities for corrections and confirmations to avoid affecting your travel plans.

【July 2024 Update】
Possibly due to an overwhelming number of requests for corrections, starting from July, the Indonesian Immigration Office no longer accepts requests to modify incorrect information. The Immigration Office’s response is as follows:

Be sure to double-check before making payment!
Therefore, friends applying for an e-visa must carefully review before payment. If there are any errors, don’t proceed with payment and reapply instead!
