Staying overnight at Bali Safari is incredibly fun!
To ensure comfort, we chose the spacious ‘KIFARA Family Room’ (with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room)
Although we couldn’t see animals directly from the room’s balcony, being very close to the pool, it was just a 60-second walk to the feeding area by the pool with a basket of carrots provided by the hotel
Gently waving the carrots, the zebras in the distance would leisurely walk over. Feeding zebras is free for hotel guests, but visitors who enter with a ‘Bali Safari’ ticket need to pay extra to ride the feeding cart
While swimming, you might occasionally encounter an elephant on duty, carrying guests labeled ‘Bali Safari’ towards you (elephant rides require an additional fee). The complimentary basket of fruits (apples, mangoes, bananas) provided with your stay is perfect for gifting to your new elephant friend.
“Bali Safari” zoo also offers a “Night Safari” experience, which includes a buffet dinner. Enjoy your meal while watching performances in an outdoor setting. Hotel guests can enjoy these performances for free.
After dinner, embark on a caged vehicle tour to see the animals. Due to exhaustion, I skipped this part, but if you’re interested, remember to book a package that includes the “Night Safari” for significant savings.
The only restaurant in “Mara River Safari Lodge”, “Tsavo Lion Restaurant”, always has majestic lions roaming outside its glass windows. Watching me have breakfast, the lions were utterly adorable (heart-melting). Hotel guests can enjoy breakfast here for free, while non-guests must pay extra.
During this stay, both dinner (paid) and breakfast (free) were at “Tsavo Lion Restaurant”. The lions were very active at night and slept in the morning.
Additionally (the benefits are endless, truly satisfying), there’s an exclusive close encounter session at fixed times, bringing animals right in front of you for photos and touches.
At breakfast time (08:00), a chameleon (?) personally visits the restaurant to accompany your meal. After breakfast (09:00), I met Mr. Elephant at the small garden in front of the hotel for a close encounter without queuing, making me very happy.
Moreover, hotel guests can enjoy unlimited access to the “Bali Safari” park for two days (check-in & check-out days). Between animal shows, you can take a short nap back in your hotel bed, super relaxing.
The “Bali Safari” park isn’t very large. Riding the air-conditioned Safari Bus (Safari Journey) allows you to see most of the animals in the park, with the rest being various spectacular animal shows.
The following are all worth including in your itinerary:
Check-in day:
1400-1500 Elephant Bath (Get up close to see elephants bathing)
1600-1615 Animal Show (Must-see! Adorable animals coming from all directions)
1630-1650 Elephant Show (A performance combining historical storytelling)
Check-out day:
0900-1000 Elephant Encounter Mara (Elephants personally guard the hotel entrance)
1115-1135 Big Cat Show (Must-see! Tigers climbing trees and swimming in water, very entertaining)
In addition to the above, the park also has a freshwater aquarium, water park, and land park, but these are less appealing and can be skipped.
For non-locals, the ticket prices for Bali Safari are quite steep. If time allows, consider staying overnight at Mara River Safari Lodge within Bali Safari. The accommodation plus ticket package offers much better value than buying tickets separately. Mara River Safari Lodge:
