Bottom line: Skip Ubud and follow this refined route—Seminyak (stay + dining) → Canggu’s Finns Beach Club → Tanah Lot Temple (sunset) → Jimbaran/Uluwatu—for an equally thrilling experience. Key highlights include The Citta Luxury Residence (a pool villa in Seminyak), WAHAHA’s pork ribs (salty, so don’t overdo it), and visiting Tanah Lot Temple during low tide to walk the rocky path.
The Citta Luxury Residence
Upon arriving in Bali, we headed straight to this stunning accommodation in Seminyak—The Citta Luxury Residence. The space is incredibly spacious, clean, and bright, with excellent natural light. The pool is surrounded by beautiful frangipani trees, making you feel like you’re in paradise.

How can you visit Bali without staying in a villa like this? The staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive, making us feel right at home. The floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the room open directly to the pool—a true luxury.
After dinner out, we returned to find the staff had thoughtfully lit mosquito coils for us, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep. This is a place I’ll truly miss and would love to revisit ❤️.

WAHAHA Grilled Ribs
WAHAHA is a well-known grilled rib restaurant in Bali. While the sauce pairing isn’t particularly impressive, the meat is quite tender. Due to the climate, the flavors lean salty—worth a try, but if you overdo it, you might wake up looking like a swollen pig the next day 😂.
Finns Beach Club

Finns Beach Club
Located in Bali’s most famous Canggu area, Finns Beach Club sits in one of Bali’s trendiest districts. It’s packed with pools, beaches, and bars, offering a variety of music, restaurants, and food. You can jog, lounge all day, and even admire muscular guys and bikini-clad beauties—truly a great spot.
But that’s what I thought (ahem), only to find a bunch of uncles and older guys on the prowl, along with girls in barely-there bikinis or with lips plumper than Kim Kardashian’s, swaying around. I ended up sitting by the beach, sipping a cold beer and nibbling on some snacks to wrap it up (I’m too old for this 🚬).
Pura Tanah Lot

The rock of Tanah Lot Temple only reveals a path connecting to the mainland during low tide. Beneath the temple, there’s a cave said to be the home of sea snakes, the temple’s guardians. The sunset terrace next to the temple is an excellent spot to watch the sunset.
The weather was absolutely perfect that day, and we were lucky enough to walk out to Tanah Lot after the tide receded, strolling along while soaking in the stunning sunset. The scenery here is breathtaking from every angle—truly worth visiting again and again.
The Tukad Villa
Located in Seminyak, The Tukad Villa is a thoughtful and stunningly beautiful villa. They take early birthday requests very seriously and specially prepared a birthday surprise for me, with decorations that were exactly to my taste.

As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by a gorgeous private pool, and the room is clean and comfortable, making it feel like a super chill little home. Every staff member is incredibly warm, from the welcome to breakfast to every little detail—service that rivals a five-star hotel.
It’s truly a perfect place where you never want to leave.

Odysseys Surf School
Surfing was hands down the craziest yet most rewarding experience of this trip. I took a two-hour lesson with Odysseys Surf School, where one instructor patiently guided me the entire time.

Provided by Lin Yanwei
For beginners, it’s easy to pick up quickly. The shop thoughtfully provides surfboards, leg ropes, and wetsuits, and the changing rooms are spacious and clean, with lockers, showers, and fresh towels—so women have nothing to worry about.
Best of all, their photos are absolutely stunning, gorgeous, and picture-perfect—you’ll never have to worry about missing out on memories. This school truly takes care of every concern for women, and I highly recommend it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
During the lesson, the most common instructions I heard were:
- 🤦🏽♂️ Don’t keep looking down at the sea—look ahead!
- 🤦🏽♂️ Go go go go, stand up now!
- 🤦🏽♂️ Paddle hard!
Every time I stood up, I could feel the instructor pushing hard from behind, and all that effort finally paid off. Even though I ended up covered in bruises and my skin got super dark, this surfing experience was way more fun than 💯.

Ku De Ta Bali

Ku De Ta Bali is one of the most beautiful and chill beach bars in Bali. It’s huge, perched right by the sea, letting you enjoy the ocean breeze and the sound of waves while sipping fine drinks and savoring great food—truly a life pleasure.
It has indoor, outdoor, and beachfront areas, offering dinner, snacks, and a variety of drinks that rival five-star hotels. Ku De Ta is located in a lively area full of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops—you can shop until you’re tired, then come here to chill with a drink.
Although the price is slightly higher than elsewhere, it’s absolutely worth it. Every traveler to Bali should come here to sit and soak in its unique charm.

Uluwatu Temple

Provided by Lin Yanwei
Uluwatu Temple, also known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu or the Cliff Temple, is a place I visited once a few years ago. Returning this year, I was once again struck by its grandeur and beauty.
Perched on a cliff overlooking the vast Indian Ocean, even though we weren’t here for the sunset this time, the daytime view of sky and sea blending into one was still unforgettable. Our guide took us on a thorough tour, with plenty of photo ops and angle-hunting.
Aside from a cheeky monkey that nearly snatched my sunglasses, everything was breathtakingly beautiful. This trip to Uluwatu Temple once again gave me a profound experience of this ancient and sacred place.

Karma Jimbaran
Karma Jimbaran, Jimbaran Beach Villas By Nakula—I have to say, this was the most impressive, chillest, and most luxurious villa of the trip. This standalone villa comes with a private pool, three bedrooms, and a huge separate living room.

Upon check-in, we were greeted with ice-cold welcome drinks, and in the morning, a private butler cooked breakfast right in front of us. At night, we could even enjoy a private massage service. Once you arrive here, you truly never want to leave.
My stay at Karma Jimbaran this time left me with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

Jimbaran Beach Sunset
The most unforgettable moment was watching the sunset at Jimbaran Beach. It’s just a five-minute walk from the villa, super convenient. We strolled along the shore, splashing in the waves while soaking in the stunning sunset—golden and shimmering, with the water sparkling. I couldn’t resist snapping photos.

Under this breathtaking view, I have to praise my guide once again. He carried my bag, captured candid shots while giving directions, and even worried about my boyfriend dirtying his pants—so he took off his own slippers and let my boyfriend sit on them. His dedication moved me to tears, and every single photo turned out stunningly beautiful.
Sundara by Four Seasons
The Four Seasons’ dinner restaurant, Sundara—I have to say, from the moment you step through its grand entrance, you immediately feel the upscale vibe. With a seaside location, incredible views, and a live band performance, the atmosphere, service, environment, and every detail were spot-on 💯.

But I’m sorry to say, the food was so bad it’s impossible to rate. This is a place you’d want to linger and enjoy the romantic sea views, but we left after just an hour. Chef, please step it up! Despite the high prices, the food quality was truly disappointing.
The only thing that stood out to me throughout the entire dinner was that the bread and butter were barely edible. Truly disappointing.
Cuca

Provided by Lin Yanwei
Cuca was my last meal before leaving Bali. I heard it’s a restaurant recommended by Nicholas Tse, and every dish was impressive. What left the deepest impression was probably their large pearl oysters. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the drinks were very creative.
If you enjoy light meals and don’t mind a menu-less dining experience, Cuca is definitely a place to consider.

Driver & Tour Guide Recommendation

Provided by Lin Yanwei
I highly recommend my tour guide. Bali’s traffic is absolutely mind-blowing! A 15-minute drive turns into 30 minutes; an hour becomes three! But my guide never lost patience, constantly trying alternate routes to keep things moving. He planned the itinerary perfectly and even doubled as a photographer with great skills.
