Bottom line: Skip Ubud and follow this refined route—Seminyak (stay + food) → Canggu Finns Beach Club → Tanah Lot (sunset) → Jimbaran/Uluwatu—and you’ll still have an incredible time. Key highlights include The Citta Luxury Residence (a pool villa in Seminyak), WAHAHA pork ribs (watch out for the saltiness), and visiting Tanah Lot at low tide to walk the rock path.
The Citta Luxury Residence
As soon as we landed in Bali, we headed straight to this stunning accommodation in Seminyak—The Citta Luxury Residence. The space is incredibly spacious, clean, and bright, with fantastic natural light. The pool is surrounded by beautiful frangipani trees, making you feel like you’re in paradise.

How can you visit Bali without staying in a villa like this? The staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive, making us feel right at home. The floor-to-ceiling glass doors open directly to the pool—pure bliss.
After dinner out, we returned to find the staff had thoughtfully lit mosquito coils, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep. This is truly a place I’d revisit with all my heart ❤️.
WAHAHA Ribs
WAHAHA is a well-known rib restaurant in Bali. While the sauce pairing isn’t particularly mind-blowing, the meat is incredibly tender. Due to the local climate, the flavors lean salty, so it’s worth a try, but if you overindulge, you might wake up looking like a swollen pig the next day 😂.
Finns Beach Club

Finns Beach Club
Located in Canggu, one of Bali’s most fashionable areas, Finns Beach Club is a hotspot. It’s packed with pools, beaches, and bars, offering a mix of music, restaurants, and food. You can jog, lounge all day, and even admire some buff guys and bikini-clad beauties—truly a great place.
However, that’s what I thought (ahem), but in reality, I saw a bunch of older uncles trying to pick up, along with some girls in barely-there bikinis or with lips plumper than Kim Kardashian’s, swaying around. I ended up sitting by the beach, sipping a cold beer, and ordering some snacks to wrap up the round (I’m too old for this 🚬).
Pura Tanah Lot

The rock formation of Tanah Lot Temple only reveals a path connecting to the mainland during low tide. The cave beneath the temple is said to be the home of the temple’s guardian—sea snakes. The sunset terrace next to the temple is a prime spot to watch the sunset.
The weather was absolutely perfect that day, and we were lucky enough to walk out to Tanah Lot after the tide receded, strolling along while taking in the stunning sunset. The scenery here is breathtaking from every angle, and it’s truly worth visiting again and again.
The Tukad Villa
Located in Seminyak, The Tukad Villa is a thoughtful and stunningly beautiful villa. They took my early birthday request very seriously and prepared a special surprise that was exactly to my liking.

As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by a gorgeous private pool, and the room is clean and comfortable, making it feel like a super chill little home. Every staff member was incredibly warm, from the welcome to breakfast and every detail in between—the service rivaled that of a five-star hotel.
It’s truly a place where you never want to leave.

Odysseys Surf School
Surfing was hands down the craziest yet most rewarding experience of this trip. I took a two-hour lesson at Odysseys Surf School, and the instructor was patient and attentive the entire time.

For beginners, it’s easy to pick up quickly. The shop thoughtfully provides surfboards, leg ropes, and wetsuits. The changing rooms are spacious and clean, with lockers, showers, and fresh towels, so women have nothing to worry about.
Best of all, their photos are absolutely stunning, gorgeous, and picture-perfect—you’ll never have to worry about missing out on memories. This school truly takes care of every concern women might have. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
During the lesson, the most frequent commands I heard were:
- 🤦🏽♂️ Stop staring down at the sea, look ahead!
- 🤦🏽♂️ Go go go go, stand up now!
- 🤦🏽♂️ Paddle harder!
Every time I stood up, I could feel the instructor pushing hard from behind, and all that effort finally paid off. Even though I ended up covered in bruises and my skin got super dark, this surfing experience was way more than 100% fun.
If you’re planning to surf in Bali, you must go to Odysseys Surf School - Bali!
Ku De Ta Bali

Ku De Ta Bali is one of the most beautiful and chill beach bars in Bali. It’s huge, right by the sea, letting you enjoy the ocean breeze and the sound of waves while sipping drinks and savoring great food—truly a life pleasure.
With indoor, outdoor, and beachfront areas, they serve dinner, snacks, and a wide range of drinks that rival five-star hotels. Ku De Ta is located in a lively area full of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops, so you can shop until you’re tired and then come here to chill with a drink.
Although the price is slightly higher than other places, it is absolutely worth it. Every traveler to Bali should come here to sit and soak in its unique charm.

Uluwatu Temple

Provided by Lin Yanwei
Uluwatu Temple, also known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu, is a place I visited once a few years ago. Returning this year, I was once again struck by its grandeur and beauty.
Perched on a cliff overlooking the vast Indian Ocean, even though we didn’t come for the sunset this time, the daytime view of the sea blending into the sky was still unforgettable. Our guide took us on a thorough tour, with plenty of photo opportunities and angle-hunting.
Aside from a cheeky monkey that nearly snatched my sunglasses, everything else was breathtakingly beautiful. This trip to Uluwatu Temple once again gave me a profound experience of the charm of this ancient and sacred place.

Karma Jimbaran
Karma Jimbaran, Jimbaran Beach Villas By Nakula—I have to say, this was the most impressive, most chill, and most luxurious villa of the entire trip. This standalone villa comes with a private pool, three bedrooms, and a massive separate living room.

Upon check-in, we were greeted with ice-cold welcome drinks, and in the morning, a private butler cooked breakfast right in front of us. At night, we could even enjoy a private massage service. Once you arrive here, you really never want to leave.
My stay at Karma Jimbaran this time left me with unforgettable memories.

Jimbaran Beach Sunset
The most unforgettable moment was watching the sunset at Jimbaran Beach. It’s just a five-minute walk from the villa, super convenient. We strolled along the shore, feeling the waves, and admired the stunning sunset—golden and shimmering over the water, so beautiful we couldn’t resist snapping photos.

Under this breathtaking view, I have to praise my guide once again. He carried my bag, took candid shots while giving directions, and even worried about my boyfriend dirtying his pants, so he took off his own slippers for my boyfriend to sit on. His dedication moved me to tears, and every photo turned out stunningly beautiful.
Sundara by Four Seasons
The Four Seasons’ dinner restaurant, Sundara, from its grand entrance, immediately exudes a luxurious vibe. With a seaside location, stunning views, and a live band performance, the atmosphere, service, environment, and every detail were 💯.

But I’m sorry to say, the food was so terrible that I can’t even rate it. It’s a place you’d want to linger and enjoy the romantic sea view, but we left after just an hour. Chef, please step up! Despite the high prices, the food quality was truly disappointing.
The most memorable part of the entire dinner was that the bread and butter were barely edible. Truly disappointing.
Cuca

Cuca was my last meal before leaving Bali. I heard it’s a restaurant recommended by Nicholas Tse, and every dish was stunning. The most unforgettable was probably their giant pearl oysters. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the drinks were very creative.
If you enjoy light meals and don’t mind a menu-free dining experience, Cuca is definitely a place to consider.

Driver & Guide Recommendation

Recommended by Lin Yanwei
I highly recommend my guide. The traffic in Bali is absolutely mind-blowing! A 15-minute drive can turn into half an hour, and an hour can stretch into three! But my guide never lost patience—he kept trying different routes to find smoother paths, planned the itinerary perfectly, and even doubled as a photographer with great skills.
