Alaya Suites Ubud is the newest addition to Alaya Hotels & Resorts, currently the latest member of the group. Located in the Pengosekan area, it offers a quieter and more private atmosphere compared to the group’s flagship Alaya Resort. The design blends modern elements with Balinese cultural touches, featuring 45 suites and 6 one-bedroom villas. The property exudes understated luxury—not the flashy tropical resort type, but the kind of place that makes you want to slow down. Now is the perfect time to experience this new property before the crowds arrive.

📍 Location & Surroundings
The hotel is situated on Jl. Raya Pengosekan, approximately 450 meters from ARMA Museum, 950 meters from Monkey Forest, 1.5 kilometers from Yoga Barn, and 1.9 kilometers from Ubud Traditional Art Market and Ubud Palace. What makes this location special? Pengosekan is just a short distance from Ubud’s city center but lacks the crowded commercial vibe. The area is dotted with local-style cafes and galleries, catering to travelers seeking the “authentic Ubud” experience.
Even more convenient is the hotel’s proximity to its sister properties, Alaya Resort Ubud and Alaya Grounds (home to Pison Coffee, Rayjin, Cerita Manisan, Chon Tea, and other dining options), both just 500 meters away. You can easily stroll around the hotel for brunch or afternoon tea without worrying about finding a restaurant. The Pengosekan area retains a strong local charm, perfect for travelers who enjoy wandering through alleys and exploring small shops.
🏨 Facilities Overview
The hotel’s design concept breaks away from traditional Balinese thatched roofs, drawing inspiration from Bali’s five natural elements: water (sāgara), earth (bhūmi), life (jīva), air (akasha), and light (sūrya). Each floor is themed around a different element, showcased through carved stone, reclaimed wood, and layered textures. Stepping into the hotel doesn’t elicit a “wow” but rather a calming “ah, this is nice.”
The pool area is the hotel’s relaxation hub, featuring a main pool in a tranquil and serene setting. The gym is equipped with Technogym machines and free weights.
Dining highlights include Carbón, a restaurant inspired by Mexican and Peruvian cuisine, specializing in open-fire grilling with a menu focused on seasonal ingredients and Latin American flavors—a rare find in Ubud. Other options include Baker Butcher Barista (light meals and coffee), Pool Bar, and Tequila & Cigar Lounge, perfect for evening drinks. Breakfast is à la carte, with guests generally praising its quality.
The spa features Alaya Group’s signature brand, DaLa Spa, with six treatment rooms centered around Balinese natural elements. Each treatment is rooted in traditional Balinese wellness wisdom, using natural ingredients.
🛏️ Room Types
Suites come in two types: King Suite (one king bed) and Twin Suite (two beds), both 65 square meters with private balconies, bathtubs, and showers. The natural color palette and layered textures create a peaceful ambiance. Villas are one-bedroom, 100 square meters, featuring private plunge pools overlooking Ubud’s greenery, outdoor sun loungers, and dining areas.

▲All 51 rooms are equipped with air conditioning, Smart TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms feature separate bathtubs and showers, and some room types include a minibar (with some complimentary drinks).

▲If your budget allows, we recommend booking a Villa directly—a private pool paired with Ubud’s lush greenery, enjoying a morning soak accompanied by birdsong—that’s the true essence of Ubud.
👥 Ideal Guests
Top choice for honeymooners—combine a Villa with a private pool and a couples’ spa treatment, plus a refined dinner at Carbón, and the atmosphere is perfect. Also ideal for travelers who appreciate design but prefer to stay away from noisy tourist spots. Pengosekan’s location offers both convenience and tranquility. Slightly less suitable for families with children, as the hotel explicitly states it does not provide cribs or extra beds.
💬 Guest Reviews
One guest originally booked Alaya Resort but was unexpectedly upgraded to Alaya Suites. She described the suite as spacious, extremely quiet, and the oversized bathtub made the stay even more relaxing. Breakfast was à la carte with unlimited servings, freshly prepared, and praised as five-star quality.
Another review meticulously listed the names of the service team—restaurant staff, Spa therapists, shuttle drivers, and butlers—each with specific praise, describing this level of personalized service as ‘extremely rare.’ Receiving such high praise during the early stages of opening clearly indicates a strong foundation in service.
