Alaya Suites Ubud is the newest addition to Alaya Hotels & Resorts, currently the latest member of the entire group. Located in the Pengosekan area, it is positioned to be quieter and more secluded than the group’s established Alaya Resort. The design blends modern elements with Balinese cultural influences, offering 45 suites and 6 one-bedroom villas. The entire property follows a low-key luxury approach—not the flashy tropical resort style, but the kind of place that makes you want to slow down the moment you step in. Now is the perfect time to experience this new property before the crowds arrive.

📍 Location & Surroundings
The hotel is situated on Jl. Raya Pengosekan, approximately 450 meters from ARMA Museum, 950 meters from Monkey Forest, 1.5 kilometers from Yoga Barn, and 1.9 kilometers from Ubud Traditional Art Market and Ubud Palace. What makes this location special? Pengosekan is just a short distance from Ubud’s city center but lacks the crowded commercial vibe. The area is dotted with local-style cafes and galleries, making it more appealing to travelers seeking the ‘authentic Ubud’ experience.
Even more convenient, the hotel is just 500 meters from its sister properties Alaya Resort Ubud and Alaya Grounds (which houses dining brands like Pison Coffee, Rayjin, Cerita Manisan, and Chon Tea). You can easily walk around the hotel for brunch or afternoon tea without worrying about finding a restaurant. The entire Pengosekan area retains a stronger sense of local life, perfect for travelers who enjoy wandering through alleys and exploring small shops.
🏨 Facilities Overview
The hotel’s design concept steers away from the traditional Balinese thatched-roof style, drawing inspiration from Bali’s five natural elements: water (sāgara), earth (bhūmi), life (jīva), air (akasha), and light (sūrya). Each floor is themed around a different natural element, expressed through carved stone, reclaimed wood, and layered textures. Stepping into the hotel doesn’t elicit a ‘wow’ but rather a calming ‘ah, this is nice.’
The pool area is the relaxing heart of the hotel, featuring a main pool in a tranquil environment with a soothing pace. The gym is equipped with Technogym machines and free weights.
The dining options have several highlights: Carbón restaurant draws inspiration from Mexican and Peruvian cuisine, specializing in open-fire charcoal grilling, with a menu focused on seasonal ingredients and Latin American flavors - a rare find in Ubud. Additionally, there are Baker Butcher Barista (light meals and coffee options), Pool Bar, and Tequila & Cigar Lounge, providing evening drink spots. Breakfast is à la carte, with guests generally praising its quality.
The spa continues Alaya Group’s signature brand DaLa Spa, featuring 6 treatment rooms centered around Bali’s natural elements. Each treatment is rooted in traditional Balinese wellness wisdom using natural ingredients.
🛏️ Room Types
Suites come in King Suite (queen bed) and Twin Suite (twin beds) options, both at 65 square meters with private balconies, bathtubs, and showers. The natural color palette and textured design create a serene atmosphere. Villas are one-bedroom units at 100 square meters, featuring private plunge pools overlooking Ubud’s greenery, complete with outdoor sun loungers and dining areas.

▲All 51 rooms are equipped with air conditioning, Smart TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms feature separate bathtubs and showers, with some rooms including minibars (with some complimentary drinks).

▲If budget allows, we recommend booking a Villa directly - the private plunge pool combined with Ubud’s lush greenery, enjoying a morning soak with birdsong, truly captures the essence of visiting Ubud.
👥 Ideal Guests
A top choice for honeymooners—combining a private pool villa with couple’s spa treatments, complemented by a refined dinner at Carbón, creates the perfect ambiance. It’s also ideal for travelers who appreciate design but prefer to stay away from noisy tourist spots. The location in Pengosekan offers both convenience and tranquility. However, it may not be as suitable for families with young children, as the hotel clearly states it does not provide cribs or extra beds.
💬 Guest Reviews
One guest originally booked Alaya Resort but was unexpectedly upgraded to Alaya Suites. She described the suite as spacious and extremely quiet, with a large bathtub that enhanced the relaxing experience. Breakfast was à la carte with unlimited servings, freshly made, and praised for its five-star quality.
Another review meticulously listed the names of the service team—restaurant, spa, shuttle driver, butler—each with specific praise, noting that this level of personalized service is “extremely rare.” Receiving such high praise shortly after opening indicates a solid foundation in service.
