【Seminyak-Uluwatu-Jimbaran-Ubud】Complete Bali Itinerary Sharing

The following content was provided by group member Lian Yuzhun and rearranged by us:

This time, we chose to visit Bali in July to attend a friend’s wedding. The travel information for Bali is quite extensive, and it took us two to three months to finalize our itinerary.

During the planning phase, we discovered that the local transportation situation is very chaotic, with drivers often refusing to take passengers across regions or raising prices midway. To avoid these issues, we decided to hire a private driver. This not only reduced the hassle of finding transportation but also made our journey smoother and more secure. Our driver was Komang WikaSutresna (introduced at the end). In the end, we felt that hiring a private driver was a very wise decision!

Having heard that Seminyak’s traffic is very congested, we chose to walk around casually in the morning without hiring a car. We arranged for our driver to pick us up from Seminyak to our villa in Uluwatu in the evening, and Komang arrived early at the designated location to wait for us. We originally planned to go out for dinner ourselves after arriving at the villa, but Komang checked the route using Google Street View on the way and found that the path from the villa to the main street was very dark at night and not safe to walk. Finally, when we arrived at the villa, he waited at the entrance for us to check-in and then took us out for dinner. This thoughtful service made us feel very warm.

Day 2:

In the morning, we went to Oneeighty Dayclub, which I highly recommend. We arrived within an hour of opening, so we got a front-row seat with a sea view.

Next, we headed to Blue Point Beach to watch skilled surfers in action, which was truly eye-opening.

Afterwards, Komang recommended we visit Uluwatu Temple to watch a traditional dance performance. He even had his friend reserve tickets for us in advance, allowing us to spend more time at Blue Point Beach without having to rush to buy tickets.

A quick reminder: Uluwatu Temple is home to many monkeys, which are more aggressive than those at Chai Mountain. Both men and women can be targeted, and we even saw remnants of stolen glasses on the ground. So, it’s best not to bring any valuables when visiting.

Day 3:

This day was dedicated to attending a wedding, so we didn’t arrange for Komang’s car service.

Day 4:

Today’s itinerary took us from Jimbaran to Ubud. Along the way, we discovered that the restaurant we planned to visit was temporarily closed. Komang immediately helped us call to confirm and checked the waterfall’s official website, only to find that it was also closed due to heavy rain the previous day (despite it being the dry season). However, Komang quickly offered alternative suggestions, ensuring our day went smoothly. After visiting the waterfall, we strolled around Ubud town center and ended the day with a massage arranged by Komang.

Additionally, at Gefecon Villa Ubud where we stayed that night, there was a Taiwanese manager who was extremely friendly and helpful. Feel free to ask her any questions.

She also recommended Bintang Supermarket Ubud for souvenir shopping. Later, we saw the same nuts selling for four times the price at the airport.

Today’s route was an O-shape, starting at Tirta Empul Temple and then heading to a café for volcano views. Initially, we had planned to visit AKASA Specialty Coffee, but Komang recommended Montana Del Café instead, noting that Taiwanese visitors seem to prefer it. Although the weather didn’t allow for volcano viewing, the Korean croissants here were exceptionally delicious!

Finally, we visited the Tegallalang Rice Terrace. The entrance ticket doesn’t include the swing ride, so if you want to try it, you’ll need to purchase a ticket at the entrance. There are also special outfits available for rent inside, perfect for taking beautiful photos. Although this place leans towards being an Instagram hotspot, wandering through the rice fields and listening to the screams of people on the swings was quite enjoyable.

After the trip, we asked Komang to take us to our favorite restaurant of the trip - Kebun Bistro. Although the famous lamb chops were sold out, the steak recommended by the staff was also delicious! We ordered it medium rare, and when cut, there was no blood, the meat was very tender, and even the side dishes were tasty. Due to the high number of customers, it’s advisable to make a reservation in advance during peak dining hours. (Added to the Ubud Guide Map)

Day Six:

In the morning, we departed from Ubud to Tanah Lot Temple. Walking to Tanah Lot might require wading through water, so it’s recommended to wear shoes and shorts that can get wet. It’s said to be beautiful at sunset, but unfortunately, we were scheduled to visit at noon and missed the view.

When we arrived at Tanah Lot, we realized we had accidentally taken the hotel key from the previous night. Komang immediately offered to return it for us in a couple of days (with the hotel manager’s consent), for which we were very grateful!

After visiting Tanah Lot, we went shopping and strolled along the beach in the Canggu area. We tried Blacklist Coffee Roasters, recommended by Fei Li, and it turned out to be our favorite coffee of the entire Bali trip.

At the end of the trip, we invited Komang to join us for dinner to thank him for his care over the past few days.

In summary, for first-time visitors to Bali who want to explore attractions but lack direction, hiring a private car service is an excellent choice. Not only do you get professional advice, but route planning becomes much easier, and you don’t have to worry about luggage issues.

Our driver, Komang WikaSutresna, is an extremely friendly person. When he heard we were here for a wedding, he was delighted and shared a short video of his own wedding from six months ago, even video chatting with his adorable son. Komang’s English is quite good, and he’s very attentive—any questions during the trip can be directed to him, and he patiently answers them all.

Komang takes every guest very seriously. Throughout our journey these past few days, he has been incredibly attentive. At each destination, he would get out of the car to explain how best to explore the area. When we went for spa treatments, he would greet the staff and ensure our needs were well taken care of. Although language barriers prevented deeper conversations, communication about the itinerary was seamless. We highly recommend Komang to everyone!
