【Bali Travelogue】Six Days and Five Nights Exploring Volcanoes, Beaches, and Island Hopping

Our Facebook group member Dai Yushan shared her six-day, five-night travelogue with friends, which we are providing here for editing/reposting:

【Bali Itinerary Sharing】

First of all, since I’ve gathered so much information about Bali from this group, I’d like to give back by sharing my travelogue.

This trip to Bali was filled with beautiful memories. We not only experienced the unique charm of this land but also met two exceptional private drivers who added so much color and warmth to our journey.

First, I’d like to introduce our driver for the first three days, Komang Sucika. He has a warm and steady personality and knows every corner of Bali like the back of his hand. We felt his quick responses and rich suggestions during our communication. On the first day, after picking us up at the airport, he took us to a place with an excellent exchange rate, which greatly increased our trust in him. His English is fluent, allowing him to not only introduce us to Bali’s stories but also share some interesting anecdotes. Moreover, his driving was so smooth that I fell asleep within five minutes of getting in the car. At the end of the third day, he even gifted us two large bags of mangosteens, which touched us deeply.

Every morning, he would arrive punctually at our villa to pick us up, always quick to respond to our needs. When we wanted to find a bookstore, he immediately called the store, speaking in Indonesian to inquire with the staff. Even at Besakih Temple, he would remind us of important considerations before we got out of the car. We felt incredibly fortunate to have met a driver like Komang Sucika! His service far exceeded what we paid, and we gave him a generous tip because we believed he absolutely deserved more.

For the last three days, we switched to another driver, who will be introduced below. Both drivers had distinct personalities—one mature and warm, the other energetic and lively. With their help, our six-day trip was incredibly enjoyable!

This trip to Bali deeply captivated us. We not only fell in love with the island’s stunning scenery but were also profoundly moved by the kindness and warmth of the locals. If we ever have the chance to visit Bali again, I believe it will be because of our longing and affection for this place. I highly recommend these two drivers—they will undoubtedly add many wonderful memories to your Bali adventure!

This trip has been incredibly rewarding for us. If you’re planning a trip to Bali, feel free to take some inspiration from my itinerary!

During our Bali trip, we met our second driver, Odon. Many in the community highly recommend him, and I chose him because I planned to visit Rock Bar on the fourth day, and I heard he could help with reservations. This caught my attention, so we decided to use his private car service for the last three days.

Odon was exceptional at Rock Bar! He helped us access through the staff entrance, had the authority to choose seats (which is crucial!), and there was no minimum spend required. He could even select seats that were already booked. I strongly recommend choosing his private car service if you plan to visit Rock Bar, as regular tourists often have to wait in long lines to enter, and only guests staying at the hotel where Rock Bar is located can make reservations.

Odon’s vibe was completely different from our previous driver. He felt like a good friend—very warm, friendly, and incredibly humorous. His English was easy to understand, and he was always eager to recommend restaurants and massage places.

He took us to a seafood restaurant loved by locals, which was affordable and delicious. We ended up dining there two days in a row. During the drives, Odon kept us entertained with conversations, introduced us to various attractions, and interacted with us throughout. When we faced issues with island hopping, he quickly resolved them for us.

Moreover, he could assist with booking island-hopping boat tickets and arranging drivers on the islands. Nusa Penida is truly a beautiful place! We opted for a packed itinerary, visiting both the east and west coasts, which was quite rushed. I’d recommend staying overnight if you prefer a more leisurely experience.

On our last day, Odon took us to Uluwatu Temple, accompanied us while explaining the sights, and took many beautiful photos for us. He also recommended a great souvenir shop. He truly felt like a good friend from Bali!

I really liked both drivers, and you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
