Bottom Line: Four days and three nights in Sanur are perfect for island-hopping trips, as its proximity to the ferry terminal saves you from early morning travel. We recommend staying at Holiday Inn (around USD$87 per night, with twin beds suitable for two adults and one child), allowing you to quickly return and rest after water activities, balancing itinerary efficiency with accommodation comfort.
For this Bali trip, we specifically planned sea excursions, so we chose to stay in Sanur. Its closeness to the ferry terminal meant we didn’t have to wake up too early to rush. After a day of fun, we could quickly return to our accommodation to rest—it was incredibly convenient. We stayed here for three nights at the Holiday Inn, with a nightly rate of about USD$87, suitable for two adults and one child. The room had two beds, comfortable and spacious.

Area Highlights

Provided by Alice Li
Sanur has relatively few Asian visitors—most tourists here are from Europe and the Americas. It’s a great area for families and travelers with kids, thanks to its friendly and safe environment. There are dedicated bike paths, and we rented bicycles to ride to the now-famous Icon Bali, enjoying a leisurely time. Icon Bali is home to many boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some shopping.

Shopping & Spending
The shops in this area are mostly traditional rather than modern fashion boutiques, so it never feels crowded, and prices are relatively affordable. We strolled around slowly and felt very comfortable—it’s a great place to unwind.
For getting around, we mainly used Grab, with fares ranging from about $1 to $3 USD, whether by car or scooter. If you’re staying in a narrow alley, I’d recommend taking a scooter for more flexibility.
Laundry Service

There’s also a self-service laundromat nearby, which solved our clothing issues after a few days. The laundry prices are very reasonable—just $4 USD for up to 5 kilograms, with staff washing, drying, and folding everything for you. However, they don’t offer ironing services!
Massage Experience
As for massage services, Sanur also has plenty of options. A one-hour massage costs around NT$400 to NT$500 (approximately USD$13 to USD$16). We particularly love ‘Ur Spa Sanur’—the environment is fantastic, clean, and tidy, but you need to book in advance via WhatsApp. If you’re looking for a cheaper massage place, there’s a more traditional one next door that’s NT$50 to NT$100 (about USD$2 to USD$3) less expensive, with a decent atmosphere, and no reservation needed—just walk in.
Restaurant Recommendations

For dining, we highly recommend Lilla Warung—their foil-wrapped fish is delicious and unforgettable. Jepun Sanur is a restaurant we wish we’d discovered sooner; we wanted to go back twice in a row. Next door, there’s a famous ice cream shop that always has a long line, but it’s absolutely worth the wait.
