Bottom Line: A four-day, three-night stay in Sanur is perfect for island-hopping trips, as its proximity to the pier saves you from early morning travel. We recommend staying at Holiday Inn (around USD$87 per night, with twin beds suitable for two adults and one child), so you can quickly return to rest after a day on the water, balancing itinerary efficiency and comfort.
For this Bali trip, we specifically planned water activities, so we chose to stay in Sanur. Its close proximity to the pier meant we didn’t have to wake up too early to catch the boat. After a day of fun, we could quickly return to our accommodation to rest—it was incredibly convenient. We stayed here for three nights, choosing the Holiday Inn hotel. The nightly rate was about USD$87, suitable for two adults and one child, with two beds in the room that were both comfortable and spacious.

Area Highlights

Provided by Alice Li
Sanur has relatively few Asian visitors — it’s mostly European and American tourists. It’s a great choice for families and travelers with kids, thanks to its friendly and safe environment. There are dedicated bike paths here, and we rented bicycles to ride to the now-famous Icon Bali, enjoying a leisurely time. Icon Bali is home to many boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some shopping.

Shopping & Spending
The shops in this area are mostly traditional rather than modern and trendy, so it never feels crowded, and prices are quite reasonable. We strolled around slowly and felt very comfortable — it’s a great place to unwind.
For getting around, we mainly used Grab, with fares ranging from about 30 to 80 TWD (roughly $1 to $3 USD). Both cars and scooters are convenient, but if you’re staying on a narrow lane, I’d recommend taking a scooter for more flexibility.
Laundry Service

There’s also a self-service laundromat nearby, which solved our problem of having to wash clothes after a few days. The laundry prices are very affordable — within 5 kilograms, it’s only 120 TWD (about $4 USD). They’ll wash, dry, and fold your clothes for you, but they don’t offer ironing services!
Massage Experience
As for massages, Sanur has plenty of options. A one-hour massage costs around 400 to 500 TWD (about $13 to $16 USD). We especially liked ‘Ur Spa Sanur’ — the environment is fantastic, clean, and tidy, but you need to book in advance via WhatsApp. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, there’s a more traditional massage place next door that’s 50 to 100 TWD (about $2 to $3 USD) cheaper, with a decent atmosphere. No reservation is needed there — you can just walk in.
Restaurant Recommendations

For dining, we highly recommend Lilla Warung—their foil-wrapped fish is absolutely delicious and unforgettable. Jepun Sanur is another restaurant we wish we had discovered sooner; we wanted to go back two nights in a row. Next door, there’s a famous ice cream shop that always has a long line, but it’s definitely worth the wait.
