According to a report by the Central News Agency on December 8, Indonesia is considering implementing a visa-free policy for visitors from 20 countries, including Taiwan.

Travel to Indonesia/Bali would enjoy visa-free treatment.
Currently, only citizens of other ASEAN member states can enter Indonesia visa-free. The Indonesian government is actively promoting inbound tourism and thus considering expanding the visa-free policy. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, stated in an interview with CNN Indonesia that the list of countries under consideration is based on the number of visits by their citizens to Indonesia.
He mentioned the United States, Japan, China (including Hong Kong), India, the United Arab Emirates, several European countries, and Taiwan. He said this policy would encourage high-spending, high-quality travelers. The government may discuss the visa-free policy next month, while also considering whether Indonesian travelers could receive similar treatment in other countries.
Under current regulations, visitors from Taiwan or Hong Kong can apply for a Visa on Arrival or a paid e-VOA, costing approximately USD$32 (Rp. 500,000). The document is valid for 30 days and can be extended once.
