Bali's Batu Barak Cliff Road Travel Guide: Entrance Fees, Road Conditions, and Uluwatu South End Day Trip Planning

Bali, this mysterious and romantic vacation paradise, hides many stunning secrets beyond its famous beaches and rice terraces. Located in Uluwatu, Batu Barak (also known as Tanah Barak) has become one of the hottest spots in recent years. This area, referred to as the ‘Blue Road’ or ‘Cliff Road’, attracts countless travelers with its magnificent limestone cliffs, white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. Today, let’s step into this dreamy place and feel its charm!

Where is Batu Barak/Tanah Barak?

Batu Barak Beach is located in the Uluwatu region of southern Bali, specifically in Kutuh Village, adjacent to the famous Pandawa Beach and Green Bowl Beach. This man-made road is hidden between limestone cliffs, offering unique natural scenery and serving as a hidden gem in the southern tip of Bali.

Why is it called the ‘Blue Road’ or ‘Cliff Road’?

This coastal road is called the ‘Blue Road’ because the limestone cliffs contrast beautifully with the azure sky, creating a magnificent scene. Especially on Bali’s sunny days, the sky’s blue and the earth’s colors form a striking contrast, resembling a blue path to heaven. Additionally, due to the steep cliffs on both sides of the road, it is also known as the ‘Cliff Road’.
