This trip to Bali not only immersed me in the island’s stunning scenery but also allowed me to indulge in a lavish seafood feast at Mr. Lobster Restaurant. From lobster to marble goby, every bite was a delight. Here’s a glimpse of my culinary experience:
Customer A: Mr. Lobster Restaurant
This is a dining experience that comes highly recommended!
Before my trip, I stumbled upon this Taiwanese-owned restaurant in a Bali community group, which convinced me to give it a try. Upon arrival, we ordered lobster, crab, and Thai shrimp. Each bite was extraordinary—the lobster meat was tender and sweet, the crab was succulent, and the Thai shrimp roe had a delicate aroma that was irresistible. Two lobsters, two crabs, and 600 grams of Thai shrimp cost only around $32 to $65, truly a great value!
What’s particularly noteworthy is that the owner generously delivered their signature lobster porridge to my accommodation. Before leaving Bali, I enjoyed this dish at the airport for just $5, and it was unbelievably delicious! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!
Customer B: Highly Recommended Seafood Delight
Mantis Shrimp In Bali, I had the chance to taste mantis shrimp that were nearly 40 cm long. The meat was delicate and sweet, even sweeter than lobster, and sharing one between two people was just perfect.
Marble Goby Although marble goby is more expensive than grouper, its meat is incredibly tender and boneless, making it very easy to eat. In Taiwan, a marble goby costs around USD$19, but here it’s only half the price.
Small Lobster The small lobsters in Bali come from the sea, and their meat is just as springy as that of larger wild lobsters. At around USD$6 each, it’s actually more economical to enjoy eight small lobsters here, as the total meat is twice that of a large lobster.
Thai Shrimp The Thai shrimp in Bali, though smaller than those in Taiwan, have a richer moisture content and a texture closer to grass shrimp.
Flower Crab Here, I tried the flower crab. Though not large in size, the crab’s belly was firm, sweet, and delicious. The owner also offers cooked food delivery, with a bowl of small lobster porridge costing just around USD$5.
Restaurant Summary
The seafood here can be enjoyed on-site or ordered as live seafood or cooked food delivery. If you don’t mind the trouble, I recommend dining directly at the restaurant.
Customer C: Warm Reception by the Owner

I am very grateful for the warm reception by the lobster owner yesterday. I truly felt the big-heartedness and warmth of Taiwanese people taking care of each other.
The average cost per person for this meal was less than USD$32, which was truly great value for money. The table was filled with Thai shrimp, lobster, squid, stonefish, and six other dishes, plus a delicious soup. The lobster was sweet and juicy, the stonefish meat was tender and smooth, leaving a lasting impression. Every dish was a delightful surprise. I am very thankful for this culinary experience; it was truly an unforgettable feast.
