Bottom line: The popular Uluwatu surf route is watching waves at Single Fin Bar → heading down through the Suluban Beach tunnel to the water. But the rip current here is extremely strong—he almost couldn’t make it back to shore. Beginners must assess their skills and stay safe. If you’re with non-surfing friends, it’s best to let them enjoy the views and food first, then carve out time to focus on surfing—everyone wins.
YouTube influencer ‘Ocean Man’ shares a video introducing Uluwatu, a famous surf spot.
The video starts at Single Fin Bar, where they can directly check the wave conditions at Uluwatu. Since the waves were calm that day, they decided to move on to a better surf spot.
Walking down the hillside, they arrive at a beach in front of a tunnel (Suluban Beach). A photographer is waiting there to capture action shots of the surfers. They pass through this tunnel, which feels almost ceremonial, and reach the Uluwatu surf break.
Suluban Beach’s hidden gem
Ocean Man excitedly gets in the water to ride the waves, but the current is so strong he almost can’t make it back to shore, barely managing to climb back up the rocky path.
Afterward, they enjoyed a meal on the beach, and the ocean traveler shared the amusing experience of bringing two influencer girls along on this trip. He noted that influencers want to take in beautiful scenery and food, while surfers are fully focused on chasing waves—their travel styles are quite different. However, Bali still has spots that can satisfy both sides; with proper itinerary planning, both influencers and surf enthusiasts can have a great time.
At the end of the video, he emphasized that you need to meet your companions’ needs first before you can fully immerse yourself in the joy of surfing.
