The emerging activity Jungle Cart Bali only runs three sessions a day: morning, midday, and afternoon, with a maximum of 17 participants per session. So, is Jungle Cart Bali fun? Is it worth trying? Below is Xiao Jie’s experience—let’s take a look at his firsthand account.

Xiao Jie and his group of 11 people
Before 9 a.m., we arrived at the Jungle Cart Bali office on the outskirts of Ubud, ready to kick off this thrilling jungle go-kart experience. Upon arrival, we checked in with the friendly staff and had to sign a liability waiver. To ensure your safety, be sure to follow the racing rules and stay aware during the drive.
Heading to the Jungle Track
After completing registration, Jungle Cart Bali will arrange a dedicated shuttle to take you to the jungle racetrack located in the heart of Ubud. The drive takes about 30 minutes, during which you’ll enjoy the beautiful rural scenery of Bali.
Arriving at the Racetrack
Upon arrival at the racetrack, the staff will help you put on elbow pads and a helmet. Once everyone is geared up, a briefing session begins. During this time, the instructor will explain in detail how to operate the cart and go over safety precautions, ensuring every participant can enjoy the jungle cart adventure safely and to the fullest.

You’ll receive professional guidance from an instructor on how to safely operate the Jungle Cart. The coach will thoroughly explain track rules and driving techniques, helping you quickly get the hang of it.

Instructor Briefing
Test Drive
These carts have no engine—they rely entirely on downhill momentum, also known as ‘gravity carts.’ After the briefing, everyone can choose a cart that suits them. Since people come in different heights, they offer three sizes: L, M, and S. You can sit in one first before deciding.
Once you’ve picked your cart, led by the instructor with another coach bringing up the rear, we set off on a test drive lasting about 5 minutes. This run helps us get familiar with the vehicle controls and track environment, preparing us for the actual race ahead.

After a successful test drive, we arrive at the first checkpoint, where staff will take photos of each person.
The Race Begins
A white pickup truck leads the convoy, playing uplifting music through its speakers at the start. This not only boosts participants’ engagement but also serves as a village announcement, asking locals to clear the way.
From the first checkpoint to the second, the route passes through jungles, rice paddies, and charming traditional Balinese villages. For a closer look at the scenery, check out Xiao Jie’s video below—be sure to set it to the highest resolution!
Wanting More
At the end of the video, the convoy arrives at the second checkpoint. Once all the vehicles catch up, they move into the next stage of jungle racing. This stretch showcases different landscapes, and just as everyone is getting the hang of driving and improving their skills, the vehicles turn right into an open area—and suddenly, it’s the finish line.
This leaves everyone stunned! People are asking, ‘Huh? That’s it? We’re already at the finish line?’ It’s clear everyone is left wanting more, eager to keep enjoying the experience.
Enjoying the Food

Finally, after enjoying their traditional Indonesian drinks and delicious fried bananas, the vehicle that brought you to the Jungle Cart venue is waiting in the same open area. We ride back to the Jungle Cart Bali office in the same vehicle.
Final Thoughts
Jungle Cart Bali spans 4.5 kilometers in total. If you’ve tried the luge at Sentosa in Singapore, that track is about 700 meters long, taking at most five minutes from start to finish. In contrast, Jungle Cart Bali takes 20 to 25 minutes to complete. In short, it’s an exhilarating and fun activity that leaves you wanting more—everyone says they’d do it again on their next visit.
