Bottom line: The cheapest place to buy souvenirs in Bali is Kumbasari Art Market in Denpasar—the island’s largest wholesale art market (wholesale prices are way cheaper than retail in tourist areas). It’s packed with handicrafts, paintings, sculptures, and clothing, open daily until 5 PM. Pair it with the nearby Taman Kumbasari riverside park and the evening Pasar Kreneng night market (the island’s largest) for a full-day shopping itinerary.

Introducing Bali’s Largest Wholesale Art Market: Kumbasari Art Market

On the second day of our Bali free & easy trip, we were all set for a shopping adventure. Here’s our plan: we headed out leisurely around noon, first stopping for a hearty lunch at the small restaurant run by our Bali driver Gede Arimbawa and his wife. The meal left us energized and ready for the next adventure!

In the afternoon, we visited Bali’s largest wholesale art market—Kumbasari Art Market (open until 5 PM daily). This market is a dream to explore, packed with Balinese-style handicrafts, paintings, and souvenirs. Whatever you’re looking for, it’s all here—from paintings to sculptures and all kinds of handmade goods, with tons of variety! Whether you’re buying something for yourself or picking out a special gift for friends and family, this is definitely the place to be.

Next, we headed to Taman Kumbasari, a wonderfully laid-back riverside park. For more details, check out the link here.

In the evening, we visited Bali’s largest night market, Pasar Kreneng. This market brings together all kinds of snacks, clothing, and handicrafts—it’s like an upgraded version of a Taiwanese night market! The street food here is so delicious you’ll find it hard to leave.

Back at the riverside park at night, the lights twinkled and the scenery was stunning. Standing there, gazing at Bali after dark felt like stepping into a dream world.

The most exciting part of today’s itinerary? We scored three stunning goddess dresses at the wholesale art market featured in the video below! Can you guess how much we paid for these beautiful dresses in total? That secret is for you to figure out. Want to know more fun stuff?
