Galungan

- Highlights: One of the most important Hindu festivals in Bali, Galungan symbolizes the victory of “good (Dharma) over evil (Adharma).” During the festival, households and streets across the island are adorned with tall bamboo poles called Penjor, decorated with coconut leaves, rice stalks, and fabric, transforming the island into a stunning display. Locals dress in elaborate traditional attire to visit temples and participate in processions, creating a deeply spiritual and cultural atmosphere.
Kuningan
- Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
- Highlights: Celebrated 10 days after Galungan, Kuningan marks the day when ancestral spirits return to the heavens after visiting the earthly realm. Traditionally, locals prepare “yellow rice cakes” and offer final prayers at temples in the early morning.
