Kuta Beach Gets a Major Makeover! Zumana Nightclub Opens, Elevating the Nightlife Scene
Kuta has felt a bit stagnant in recent years, but there’s finally some fresh energy. The Savaya Group—the legendary venue that has topped Asia’s nightclub rankings for three consecutive years and ranks among the world’s top five—has decided to expand its reach to Kuta Beach with a brand-new nightclub called ‘Zumana.’ Soft openings began in mid-August, with a grand opening party scheduled for September 25-26.
World-Class Design Team Creates a Sculptural Centerpiece
Zumana’s venue is sizable, covering 3,250 square meters and designed by the renowned Rockwell Group—the same team behind Savaya’s Uluwatu venue. The standout feature inside is a ten-meter-tall art sculpture called ‘Zenía,’ created by artist Daniel Popper, surrounded by an open-air stage. In addition, there’s a thoughtfully designed pool, lounger bar, and outdoor dance floor. The entire space has been crafted with great care—this is far from a hastily thrown-together venue.
Opening Hours and Entry Rules
If you want to check it out early, the venue is open daily in August, though hours vary. Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday: 3 PM to 10 PM; Wednesday and Thursday: until 11 PM; Saturday: until midnight; Friday night owls are in luck—it stays open until 3 AM. For the two-day grand opening in September, hours are 8 PM to 1 AM.
A few entry rules to note: You must be 21 or older, and ID will be checked at the door. The dress code is smart casual—basically, no beer-brand tank tops, ripped clothing, or sportswear. Tickets are sold exclusively on Megatix, with most being general admission. If you want a seat, limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations, Prohibited Items & Key Details
Want to book a table? Just fill out the reservation form on the official website. However, certain items are not allowed inside: outside food and drinks, professional cameras, tripods, and drones are all prohibited. Bag checks will be conducted before entry—this is for security reasons, which is quite reasonable.
During the official opening weekend, the international DJ lineup is impressive: The Martinez Brothers on Friday and Satori on Saturday.
Savaya Group’s Brand Power
The main reason I’m so optimistic about Zumana is the backing of the Savaya Group, which is incredibly strong. In the latest DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs 2026 ranking, Savaya ranks 5th in the world and has been crowned Asia’s No. 1 for three consecutive years—this is basically the industry’s gold standard. The Savaya Group also operates Desa Kitsuné in Canggu, a collaboration with the Japanese-French fashion brand Maison Kitsuné, which has also received great feedback.
A New Opportunity for Kuta Beach
Honestly, the timing of Zumana’s opening is quite interesting. Kuta Beach has been on the decline in recent years, losing some of its appeal, but the local government has recently launched a beach revitalization plan—widening sidewalks to four meters, removing roadside parking, and creating a coastal promenade along the shoreline. While they still face the challenge of coastal erosion at about two meters per year, with a top-tier new venue like Zumana moving in, Kuta might just make a comeback.
