Bali Police recently confirmed that they have successfully tracked down and arrested an Indonesian suspect involved in theft. The suspect allegedly stole a tourist’s handbag on Tuesday, February 4th at Pererenan Beach.

The victim is a 31-year-old Russian tourist, identified by the initials GK, who was robbed at Pererenan Beach on Tuesday, February 4th. At the time, she had left her handbag on the sand while walking to another area, only to find it missing upon her return.
The handbag contained:

- Three ID cards
- Apple AirPods
- Cash
Police estimate the total loss to be approximately IDR 15,000,000 (around USD$968).

Just a few hours later, the police successfully apprehended the suspect—FISD, a 21-year-old man from East Java. He was arrested while working at a construction site office in Seseh-Cemagi Village, and some of the stolen items were recovered.

According to I Ketut Adnyana TJ, Chief of the Mengwi Police Unit, the criminal investigation team acted quickly and successfully identified the suspect. He stated:
“The suspect has confessed to the crime. Based on the victim’s report, he stole an iPhone 12 Pro Max and IDR cash, while the handbag and other items were discarded in a public restroom at Pererenan Beach.”
The police confirmed that the suspect will be charged under Article 362 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, facing a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison.
