According to a report from Central News Agency on December 8, Indonesia is considering implementing a visa-free policy for visitors from 20 countries, including Taiwan.

Traveling to Indonesia/Bali Will Enjoy Visa-Free Treatment
Currently, only citizens of other ASEAN member states can enter Indonesia visa-free. The Indonesian government is actively promoting inbound tourism, hence considering expanding the visa-free policy. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, stated in an interview with CNN Indonesia that the list of countries under consideration is based on the number of their citizens visiting Indonesia.
He mentioned the United States, Japan, China (including Hong Kong), India, the United Arab Emirates, several European countries, and Taiwan. He said this policy will encourage high-spending and high-quality tourists. The government may discuss the visa-free policy next month, while also considering whether Indonesian travelers can receive similar treatment in other countries.
According to current regulations, visitors from Taiwan or Hong Kong can apply for a visa on arrival or pay for an electronic visa on arrival (e-VOA), costing approximately USD$32 (Rp. 500,000). The document is valid for 30 days and can be extended once.
