Our Bali journey began on August 13th, as our family flew from Singapore to this captivating island filled with excitement. The plane landed promptly at 6:45 PM, and we immediately felt Bali’s warm atmosphere. After disembarking, we took a private car to Ubud, ready to embark on our vacation.

For our first night, we chose to dine at Cafe Wayan in Ubud. This restaurant exudes a strong Balinese vibe, with a beautiful setting full of traditional charm. We ordered a steak, which was truly excellent—tender and juicy. However, the service was a bit slow, likely because we arrived late, but overall the dining experience was satisfying.

After dinner, we returned to our accommodation for the night—Komaneka at Rasa Sayang hotel. Just as the online reviews suggested, the hotel was stunning. Both the room design and the overall ambiance were incredibly comfortable. Its location was also very convenient, right next to Monkey Forest Road, surrounded by numerous attractions and restaurants, making it perfect for sightseeing and relaxation.

August 14: Exploring Ubud and Surrounding Attractions

On the second day, we set off at 9:30 AM with a private car for a full-day tour. Our first stop was Ritatkala Cafe, a coffee shop located near the volcano with absolutely stunning views. From here, you can gaze at the entire volcanic landscape. However, the food was just average, nothing particularly impressive, but the ambiance and visual experience more than made up for it.

Next, we visited the coffee plantation recommended by our driver. The environment here was very relaxing, surrounded by lush greenery, and we even had the chance to take photos with civet cats, which delighted the kids. What made us even more satisfied was that the driver didn’t push any products on us, making the experience very comfortable.

After that, we headed to the famous Tirta Empul Temple. The crowd wasn’t as large as we had expected, perhaps because we arrived early. We asked the driver to guide us through the entire blessing ritual, which was very solemn and sacred. The driver was also very attentive, helping us record videos and take photos, leaving us with precious memories.

Our final stop was Tis Cafe. The food here was still just average, but the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that there was no minimum charge made up for it. However, to see the rice terraces, you need to climb a bit, and only a small section is visible. For those expecting a grand view of the terraces, it might be a bit disappointing.

In the afternoon, we hired a car again to visit Uluwatu (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) to watch the famous fire dance performance. The journey from Ubud took about three hours, and the driver ensured a smooth ride, making us feel at ease. Upon arrival, the cliffside temple was truly breathtaking, and the spectacular view paired with the fire dance made the long trip well worth it.

In the evening, we headed to Bali Collection for dinner. This large shopping center features multiple restaurants and shops, making it a great spot for families to dine and shop.

After a full day of activities, we checked into Ulu Segara Luxury Suites & Villas. Although the hotel is a bit dated, the pool and beach views were stunning, and the spacious rooms pleasantly surprised us, ensuring a comfortable night.

On the fourth day, we arrived at Finns Club, a beach-themed club. We had reserved seats in advance, and in the evening, there were fire dance performances and fireworks displays. The atmosphere felt like a massive outdoor nightclub, buzzing with energy. Personally, I think if you just want to soak in the vibe, there’s no need to book seats ahead of time. Simply walk in during the evening for more flexibility and without spending too much.

On our final day, we hired a car for a full day of exploration. Our first stop was Oneeighty Dayclub, a luxurious club perched on a cliff. The ambiance here was truly relaxing, the food was delicious, and they strictly controlled the number of guests, so it never felt overcrowded. Compared to Finns Club, I preferred the vibe here—it was an overall delightful experience.

Afterward, we headed to Rock Bar on Bali’s southwest coast. The sunset views here were unforgettable, especially when the lights came on at night, enhancing the bar’s enchanting atmosphere. We ordered a few drinks and slowly savored the stunning scenery—it was undoubtedly the most romantic moment of our Bali trip.

For this trip, we highly recommend Jon Devn (Agus) as your private driver. Introduced to us by Satrya, his driving was exceptionally smooth—no reckless overtaking or unnecessary honking, which made us feel safe on Bali’s mountainous roads. He was polite and kept the car impeccably clean. He was always ready to assist with anything we needed, making the entire trip more enjoyable.
